eDNA Hub runs successful SciComm Workshop at Genetics Otago Symposium 2026
Myself and Claire Adams, as Genetics Otago eDNA hub co-leaders, ran a successful Science Communication workshop as part of Genetics Otago’s 2026 Symposium, in conjunction with the Outreach hub’s Nic Rawlence.
The workshop included an insightful presentation from Nic, as a seasoned communicator in the realm of social and traditional media. We were also lucky to be joined by Ellie Rowley (Senior Media Advisor - University of Otago), Dr Claire Concannon (Radio New Zealand) and social media expert communicator Taylor Davies-Colley (@TayTalksTrees) who were all able to provide valuable perspectives and advice on diving into the science communication world.
